It kinda made it even better!

There was a time when Supernatural was simply a show about Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers hunting demons and monsters, and not a epic drama of a biblical scale.

Back at the time, in season 2, if we're being precise, the Winchesters thought their biggest problem was being possessed by a demon. Oh, poor souls... Anyway, in episode 14, Sam does get possessed by a demon named Meg — a big Winchesters' foe at the time.

Mind you, this was the time when the brothers didn't even have their fashionable anti-possession tattoos, so Sam, possessed by Meg, inflicts quite a mess before Dean and Bobby manage to capture him. However, Meg!Sam manages to break out and attack Dean.

This is where Bobby has to intervene and expel her — only for Sam, who obviously didn't remember about the fight, receive a punch in the face from his brother and bless Supernatural fans with the most confused grimace we ever saw.

Turns out, this moment was improvised by Jensen Ackles, who portrayed Dean, as the scene was never explicitly written in the script. Imagine being Jared Padalecki during the filming of this scene — you are just there, trying to act and do your job, when your on-screen brother decides to add his own twist to the script!

All we can hope for is that Padalecki had no hard feeling for Ackles for improvising this punch — after all, it was all done for the sake of character authenticity... right?

If you feel like you need to revisit The CW classic, you can stream Supernatural on Netflix or Prime Video.
