Shuri, Okoye, Nakia... or neither?

Since the release of the new trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, fans have been scrutinizing every second of the video in order to decipher the possible clues that could hint at the identity of the new Black Panther after the death of Chadwick Boseman.

Some people are adamant that T'Challa's sister Shuri will have to don the Black Panther suit, while others claim there is no better candidacy for it than Nakia. Well, speaking of the latter — actress Lupita Nyong'o hinted that the guesses are all wrong.

"We love the speculation," she said when speaking with Elle. Still, according to her, the fans "haven't guessed it at all."

After the release of the trailer, some fans went as far as to suggest that there are two Black Panthers in the movie based on the design of the suits as they appear twice in the video. Others believe that there is just one suit, but the one wearing it might change over the course of the movie.

Does Wakanda Forever Have Two Black Panthers?

After the death of Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed T'Challa , in 2020, the identity of a new Black Panther has been kept a secret. Initially, fans campaigned for T'Challa to be recast, but then the sequel, Wakanda Forever, was greenlit to be spearheaded by someone else who would inherit the title of Black Panther.

The newest Wakanda Forever trailer has revealed a new Black Panther suit that hints that the new superhero would be a woman, and it also has white Wakandan dots incorporated on the helmet. However, the trailer never gave a glimpse of whoever is behind the mask.

Wakanda Forever is due to premiere in theaters on November 11, wrapping up Phase Four of the MCU.
