Maybe working on a sequel at such an early stage is not a great idea.

Daredevil: Born Again, an upcoming TV series based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, is slowly moving toward its release.

The show will serve as a continuation of the original Daredevil Netflix TV series, which ran for three seasons (2015-2018).

Charlie Cox will reprise his role as the iconic blind superhero, joined by Vincent D'Onofrio as the Kingpin and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher.

However, fans already have their share of concerns regarding the series, as Vincent D'Onofrio shared some details regarding the future of the show.

He said that it has only been a few weeks since filming began and that the show will be quite different from its Netflix predecessor.

The actor also noted that it will be something that people will not expect. And then he suddenly dropped the news that the second season of the show is already in early works.

"And, by the second season, there are gigantic, gigantic payoffs—in the first season, too, but I can't say much about that—but the fans are gonna really get what they want. It's really quite cool to be doing it," D'Onofrio said in an interview with Newsweek.

Fans are worried that the show's creators are getting ahead of themselves by making plans for the whole project at such an early stage.

As it has been reiterated many times, the show will be very different from the Netflix series and that alone makes many fans skeptical. The PG-13 rating does not give much hope either.

"Leading with "we have Season 2 already planned!" seems like a Death Flag these days. So, you're worried Season 1 won't hold people's attention, huh?

Gotta reassure them the Network has full faith and confidence so the piggybanks that bankroll it don't get skittish? [...] I understand. Haven't even seen the first part of the product and they're already trying to bull***t people with the next part," Reddit user WhereRandomThingsAre said.

Fans also point out that Kingpin's first official appearance in the MCU since Netflix's Daredevil, which appeared in the Hawkeye TV series, was rather underwhelming compared to the original show.

Daredevil: Born Again season 1 is scheduled for release in early 2024 and will consist of 18 episodes.
