Barely a full day has passed since Grey's Anatomy 7x19 aired, and the episode has already gone down as one of the worst in the show's history.

The large fandom definitely thinks it was the most disappointing.

The winter premiere, following a three-month hiatus, received a great deal of attention as it was billed as the big farewell episode for the show's protagonist, Dr. Meredith Grey.

It was heavily hyped by ABC and had many viewers glued to their televisions in anticipation. But after watching the episode, viewers felt almost betrayed and had only one thought on their minds: Meredith deserved better!

Somehow, the show that has become an expert at saying goodbye to its characters over its 19-year run managed to give its biggest star the most lackluster sendoff.

There was absolutely nothing special about this hour. Even though fans know that Ellen Pompeo is only stepping down as a series regular and that Meredith will make an appearance in the future, this episode felt like a slap in the face.

While longtime viewers stocked up on tissues in anticipation of an emotional and Meredith-centric episode filled with heartwarming flashbacks and nods to MAGIC, the original gang of interns, the writers apparently had a different idea.

Somehow, the episode overpromoted as a big send-off had very little Meredith and even less emotional goodbyes.

"The only thing that makes me want to cry is the fact that this was soooo bad!" one of the fans wrote on Reddit.

This sentiment is certainly shared by other fans who have taken to social media to express their frustration.

The fans just can't understand why the writers have decided to give so much screen time to the characters who have nothing to do with Meredith and her long journey on the show.

Do they even care about the character who has been a huge part of the fan-favorite medical drama as well as the viewers' lives?

Even the only two original characters who could provide a glimpse into the past, Miranda Bailey and Richard Webber, got one goodbye line each, and those lines were not the best, to say the least.

For many viewers, this disappointing episode has become the last straw that made them reconsider whether the show was worth their time.

"This episode was incredibly disappointing. Pretty sure it will be the last one I watch," one fan wrote with a touch of sadness.
