You may remember Misha Collins quite well as angel Castiel from ‘Supernatural’, always in a signature trench coat and a bit awkward when it comes to 'human stuff'.

The CW's 'Gotham Knights ' welcomes Misha Collins to its cast as District Attorney Harvey Dent. And he could not have announced that without a reference to Castiel.

Harvey Dent is also known as one of the most complex and terrifying Batman villains, Two-Face. According to the character description from 'Gotham Knights', Misha's Dent will face a similar fate.

"With a rigid sense of right and wrong, Harvey's idealism and single-minded quest for justice will ironically and tragically transform him into one of Gotham's most feared supervillains, Two-Face," the description reads.

This seems to be a stark contrast to the angel from 'Supernatural ' that Collins used to portray. And fans cannot wait to see it, turning Misha's comments into a frenzy of excitement.

"hmm considering this character …you might need only half of the beige trench coat." – @reafre

Someone quickly remembered a certain fancast that may or may not include Jensen Ackles as Batman.

"I don't know anything about DC always been a marvel girl but the comments say this character is a bad guy, can't wait to see a different side of your acting." – @Fadin9Heart5

And if you recall the leviathan version of Castiel, you're not alone.

In fact, Collins is no stranger to sprinkling a little villain on that trenchcoat – in 'Supernatural' he not only played different dark versions of Castiel, but even portrayed Lucifer at some point.

Not everyone, however, enjoyed the casting.

"My condolences to anyone who was excited for Gotham Knights. You get incredibly bad acting AND toxic, insane fans all for the price of one "actor." – @carriganrose__

The release date for 'Gotham Knights' is yet to be confirmed, as the project is still in early development.

Updated 07/09/2022: The CW picked up 'Gotham Knights' to series in May. The series is scheduled to premiere in 2023, although the official release date is not set just yet. The first trailer was released on May 31, 2022, to a mostly negative response, with fans complaining that the trailer looks "horrible", so it's highly likely that 'Gotham Knights' will have to go through extensive reshoots.
