Adding this character would have been a perfect gift for fans, but now it is unlikely to ever happen.

When it was announced that the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series would feature some new members of the Imperial Inquisitorius never before seen in any Star Wars media, some of the franchise's most dedicated fans held their breath in anticipation.

It would have been a perfect opportunity to reintroduce one of the most missed characters from the Legends canon, even if only as a cameo.

Galen Marek, most commonly known by his codename Starkiller, was the protagonist of the 2008 video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

After Darth Vader killed his father, Galen was raised by the Dark Lord of the Sith and trained with one purpose: to seek out and eliminate the Jedi who survived Order 66.

In a sense, he was an Imperial Inquisitor before it even existed. Eventually betrayed by his master, he was killed in an epic duel in the throne room of the Death Star.

After that, he was resurrected/cloned (fans still debate this to this day) on Camino in the game's sequel, but that's a whole other story.

Most interestingly, Sam Witwer, the actor who voiced the character and served as the basis for his appearance, went on to voice Darth Maul in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels.

So his involvement with the franchise did not end when Disney retconned most of the Legends canon.

Imagine what a perfect gift it would have been to see him in one of the scenes in Fortress Inquisitorius, which appeared in the Obi-Wan series.

A cameo would have sufficed had the writers not intended to include him fully in the story. There have already been artworks on the Internet showing Galen in a new role.

According to Witwer himself, he could have played an Inquisitor in Rebels, but it "didn't fit the story." So the actor is open to the idea, and there were absolutely no obstacles to a cameo.

"They could even work in the whole 'secret apprentice' angle. To Palpatine, Starkiller would be just another Inquisitor. But Vader would be training him in secret. It works with the current canon [...]," Reddit user KillerDonkey said.

Unfortunately, fans got a rather controversial Third Sister instead.

And with the recent news that the second season of Kenobi has been shelved, it seems unlikely that fans will ever see this anticipated character in live action.
