Season 13 of Blue Bloods surely left fans with some questions to ponder over during winter break, one of the biggest ones being how everyone on the show seems to be perfectly chill with Jamie being shot.

In the following episode, it was business as usual and Jamie getting shot had no lasting impact on the season's plot and was never mentioned again in a meaningful way– just off-handedly with some throwaway remarks. This treatment of a seemingly very important event reminded fans of filler episodes – they just fill the time without any long-lasting consequences for the plot of the show.

There were several things that happened during the episode that probably should have been talked about more and were not, such as the DA releasing the suspect that later shot Jamie or Frank pulling that disappearing act. Frank didn't even show up at the hospital until the end of the episode, which is just another reminder of how weird this season has been so far. In comparison, earlier on Blue Bloods, when Frank himself got shot, the whole episode was about him and the family.

Fans have had mixed reactions to this treatment of the shooting in the season 13 premiere. Some have expressed frustration and disappointment, feeling that this important event was treated like a filler and hoping that the show will address the consequences in future episodes.

"I was really disappointed in how the show handled the shooting. It felt like they just wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible and move on, which is totally unrealistic and not in line with the character development we've seen in the past," as one of the Blue Bloods fans put it on social media.

Others have pointed out that this is par for the course when it comes to Jamie's treatment on the show, with many noting that the show always seems to skip over the consequences of anything that happens to him as quickly as possible.

"I understand that the show has to keep moving forward, but it would have been nice to see more of the emotional fallout from the shooting. It felt like a missed opportunity for some really powerful storytelling," another fan admitted.

Despite these concerns, many fans are still avid viewers of Blue Bloods and are excited to see what the rest of the season has in store, looking forward to seeing how the Reagan family continues to handle the challenges that come their way.
