The Office has a lot of great deleted scenes, but this one is the epitome of meta and should have been kept in the show at all costs.

The season 2 episode, Booze Cruise, was initially supposed to be even cooler than it turned out to be.

The office gang is having a party and a training session on a ship, and things get awkward between Jim and Pam, who bring their significant others with them.

The episode is a milestone in their relationship – this is when Jim splits from Katy and admits his feelings for Pam to Michael.

What most people don't know is that the episode originally featured a fun little scene with Creed Bratton jamming on his guitar and talking about his former band, The Grass Roots (which he was a part of in the late '60s).

At the beginning of the scene, Michael is not amused that Creed is getting all the attention (everyone in the office is enjoying his performance).

After the jam session is over, Creed talks about his shorter-than-usual attention span (because of drugs) and how his music career has turned into a job at a paper company.

The thing is, Creed Bratton actually plays himself in The Office, and he was a member of The Grass Roots in the 1960s.

He was the lead guitarist and one of the songwriters for the band. We bet you didn't know that about Creed! He is full of surprises (just like the character on the show).

Real-life Bratton himself is now 80 years old, and music is still a huge part of his professional life. It hasn't been that long since he released his latest album – in 2020, Slightly Altered came out. Go Creed!

Anyway, the scene offers such a rare glimpse into Creed's life before Dunder Mifflin, and it's a real shame it wasn't kept in the episode.

Plus, his guitar skills are rad, and we should have heard more of his music throughout the series.
