There’s definitely no reason to not believe the proclaimed author.

Stephen King may be the king of horror whose spooky stories make their readers shudder decades later, but he’s also a true fan of modern TV and cinema — and never shies away from giving his fans a recommendation or two.

The first week of this year marked King’s first little review of 2025 where the writer highly praised two shows that became his personal favourites last year. Interestingly enough, both series are more than able to make their viewers’ heads crack — just what the doctor ordered for those who are still missing golden mystery dramas like Lost.

Silo and From are Stephen King’s Favorite Shows of 2024

As usual, the author chose the simplest way possible to send the message to millions of his fans — through his social media.

“There are really only two "mystery box" shows that I felt were worth my time last year and this coming year (for "mystery box shows," think LOST): FROM and SILO. As always, your mileage may differ,” King said in his January 1 post on BlueSky.

Thus, the writer made it all even easier stating that those who loved watching Lost should definitely devote their time to Silo and From as well — this was quickly confirmed by fans of both or either of the series in the comments.

Both Silo and From Can Compare to Lost in Only One Aspect

Though the writer’s words have no contradiction either — by calling all three of the series "mystery box shows,” King makes it clear that all of them belong to this type of TV genre that makes it all more and more entangled for the viewer with every new episode.

However, despite having this characteristic too, Silo is way more different only due to the fact that it’s a dystopian sci-fi show with no supernatural elements being noticed in there.

In their turn, From and Lost are focused on stories that sometimes can be driven by quite otherworldly turns of events; additionally, both shows also feature Harold Perrineau as their lead, which is a funny coincidence.
