Only Murders in the Building: Season 3 Top 5 Suspects, Ranked

As Only Murders in the Building Season 3 wraps up its biggest mystery this Tuesday, October 3, speculation about who killed Paul Rudd 's Ben Glenroy is reaching its climax.

Here are our top five suspects that could explain Ben's fall from the lighthouse of his career.

5. Dickie

In last week's episode, Dickie proved his alibi by showing a security camera image of him in a CoBro suit, drunk outside a fabric shop, but the authenticity of this image could be questioned. In a very convenient coincidence, Dickie admitted that the police did not find it a strong alibi because his face was not clear.

In addition, the possibility of separate roles as a poisoner and a killer means that Dickie could still be linked to one of the attempted murders.

4. Donna

Episode 9 strongly suggests Donna's involvement in Ben's murder. As a protective mother and co-producer of Oliver's controversial Death Rattle, Donna is suspected of poisoning Ben after reading a critical review of the musical. While this theory fits her character, it's unclear if she also pushed Ben down the elevator shaft.

3. Loretta

Episode 9 revealed that Loretta is the biological mother of Dickie Glenroy, Ben's adopted brother. It turns out that she auditioned for the Death Rattle play to get closer to Dickie and claimed to have killed him when the police tried to arrest Dickie.

So while the last episode did leave the possibility of her lying to cover for Dickie open, there's still the chance that she was indeed involved in the murder. Oliver's unwavering love for Loretta and his refusal to see her as the murderer could lead to a tragic twist in the end, just as the one his friend Charles has already seen.

2. Tobert

Isn't it intriguing how Tobert is the only character with unexplained behavior and no alibi yet? In episode 9, it's revealed that Ben fired Tobert on the night of his death, providing a motive, possibly driven by a desire to make a more meaningful movie.

Tobert is the only face not on Mabel's suspect board, as she removed his photo showing her trust in him. But as we know from the previous seasons, love can be blind.

Cliff is Death Rattle's producer alongside his mother Donna, and his possible motive could be related to his desire to save his career or avoid disappointing his overbearing mother after reading the unfavorable review.
