Virgin River is one of the most popular Netflix shows right now. The second part of season 5 was released on November 30, and the two episodes answered many of the show's most intriguing questions, such as who is the father of Charmaine's twins and who is Mel's father as well.
But while new things continue to happen to the citizens of Virgin River, fans still can't rest easy about other things that happened long before. And while there are many storylines in the show that can seem a little off or even unbelievable, one of them still bothers even the most devoted fans.
Why Should the Friendship Between Muriel and Hope Be a Problem?
As we all know, Virgin River is a soapy show, so viewers have to be ready for any twist, but when it comes to something no one can relate to, it makes everything so much harder.
Fans of the show can't come to terms with the writers' decision to have Hope and Muriel as friends after what they've all been through. The thing is, when Hope and Doc were still married, Muriel did not shy away from trying to seduce Doc, even though he was married and his wife was actually her friend.
Even worse is the fact that Doc sometimes enjoyed the games and would even take part in them. Well, the fans think that such behavior is very risky and the fact that Doc and Muriel didn't sleep together and that he technically never cheated on Hope means nothing to the overall storyline and is actually absolutely unbelievable.
But what takes everything to the next level of weirdness is the fact that after Doc and Hope split up, Murial actually asked Hope for "permission" to date Doc and they actually went on several dates just to get Doc and Hope back together. And right after that, the two women just find it easy to be pals and never even talk about all this weird stuff and sharing a man.

The other half of the fans, however, think it's perfectly fine for the two women to remain friends, because that's what grown-ups do: they acknowledge the problem, talk it out, and never let the past get in the way once they've moved on.
“It's called emotional intelligence. Something many people develop over the years. Then there's trust - which Doc established with Hope when he didn't sleep with Muriel, despite the temptation.
