Did you think that vibranium was the only fictional metal everyone was going crazy about in the Marvel universe?

With plot details for Captain America: New World Order being kept under wraps, fan speculations and theories are flourishing online, and one of them has already made waves in the fandom.

According to Marvel insider CanWeGetSomeToast, two things might happen in the upcoming fourth installment of the Captain America franchise. First: Red Hulk is going to be president. Second: the metal called adamantium will be introduced in the MCU, and therefore, wolverine might appear.

The rumor has already sparked intense discussions in the fandom, with people arguing that Wolverine making an appearance in Captain America 4 is as plausible as Doctor Doom's cameo in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ( which didn't happen after all). Others, however, argue that the mere mention of adamantium will imply that Wolverine exists.

But you know what else already exists in the MCU? A rare and innovative metal that already has the US government eyeing it as its new weapon. With vibranium no longer being this much of a secret after Wakanda Forever, pursuing adamantium would make sense, according to fans.

"I could see them continuing Valentina's story from Wakanda Forever, with her finally getting her hands on vibranium and having the US synthesize their own version of it, which becomes adamantium," Redditor metal_signal17 suggested.

Still, there are people who believe Wolverine is set to make an appearance as well. It goes up to the wildest theories.

While some are ready to believe that adamantium will be introduced (perhaps along with the owner of the claws made of this metal), others mock the believers, recalling the false rumors like Superior Iron Man in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness or Doctor Doom that never actually appeared in Wakanda Forever.

Until Captain America: New World Order premieres in theaters (or at least until first test screenings take place), we are unlikely to know for sure whether the rumor has any connection to reality.

New World Order is set to hit theaters on May 3, 2024, being a part of MCU's Phase Five.
