Christian Bale is preparing to shock audiences with his portrayal of Gorr the God Butcher in Taika Waititi-directed MCU blockbuster, and it looks like the actor has already managed to frighten his co-stars.

Thor (Chris Hemsworth ) will once again fight for the survival of humanity as he attempts to take down the extremely powerful Gorr, who is determined to kill all existing MCU gods, destroying dozens of planets in the process. Oscar-winning Bale is finally making his Marvel debut, and given the actor's penchant for method acting, fans are sure to see something grand from the maverick performer. And, according to the cast and crew of 'Love and Thunder', Bale took his work very seriously, despite starring in a summer blockbuster rather than an auteur drama.

Speaking to Disney 's D23 Magazine (via The Direct), Hemsworth detailed the cast's reaction to Bale's behavior on set.

"The rest of us would be in our world of improvisation, comedy, and fun – then he'd walk on set, and we'd all look at each other and say 'Oh, my God! This is really intense. This is really scary'," Hemsworth said.

It seems that Bale has decided to take his villain role quite seriously, making all the other actors treat him and his character very differently. Fans hope that Waititi and his creative team will not misuse Bale's talent and that the actor can bring something special to this MCU production.

Others are clearly joking about the whole story, recalling how the 'Morbius ' crew praised Jared Leto 's infamous method performance.

"What a coincidence, that's also what the morbius crew said when they first saw the best actor of all time, Jared Leto walk up to the set in his morbidly scary costume," – /PrintedPopsicle.

'Thor: Love and Thunder ' will arrive on July 8, 2022.
