Does anyone even remember Galadriel's husband?

In the drama of the Sauron reveal and the Stranger mystery, everyone appears to have forgotten about an elf named Celeborn, who Galadriel described as her husband.

Even people who are into the Lord of the Rings lore might not know who Celeborn is. In The Rings of Power, according to Galadriel, the two met when she was dancing in a glade of flowers when "the war seemed so very far away".

The Rings of Power's Best Line Got Nothing to Do With Sauron

However, Celeborn's fate was less than envious. Galadriel revealed that when the war started, he went to fight, and she chided him when she saw his armor not fitting properly. This was the last time Galadriel saw her husband.

It's unclear what happened to him exactly, but chances are that Celeborn is not dead. Galadriel seems to believe in the worst outcome, but she never actually made the effort to make sure it's true, which is why some fans think that maybe she should.

Galadriel Is an Even Bigger Villain Than Sauron, If You Think About It

Fans think that Celeborn might appear later in The Rings of Power now that he has been mentioned and left without a closure.

"My theory is that he's a corrupted elf and part of the story will be Galadriel getting over her hatred of orcs," Redditor Rosebunse suggested.

But there is also another theory.

"I believe they'll swap Glorfindel with Celeborn. Glorfindel is an elf who gets resurrected after being killed by a Balrog. I wager they'll resurrect Celeborn instead and have him return to the elves. They had to kill Celeborn in order for the Galadriel-Halbrand encounter to happen," Redditor tankr94 said.

Currently, it's unclear what path The Rings of Power will choose for its future seasons. With the shooting of the second season being underway, plot details remain a mystery. However, the mention of Celeborn might be a hint for Galadriel's next journey as she tries to undo the repercussions caused by Halbrand revealing that he was Sauron all along.
