The universe of J.R.R. Tolkien's world is vast, and the Rings of Power is only one of its constituent parts.

While Amazon doesn't own the rights to The Silmarillion, they have found a way to pay homage to Middle-earth's great past.

In one of the set photos, you can see a statue of a man holding a hammer in one hand and what appears to be one of his creations in the other.

With all these attributes, the answer to the question "Who is this?" suggests itself — Fёanor, the creator of the Silmarils. This is not the first mention of Fёanor in the series.

In the first season, Celebrimbor and Elrond discussed the very hammer that the statue of the craftsman is now holding.

Fёanor was one of the most powerful and greatest elves in the history of Middle-earth. He was the creator of the palantíri and the greatest of all elven artifacts, the Silmarils, the bearers of the Two Trees of Valinor's light.

When Morgoth destroyed the trees and stole the Silmarils, Fёanor swore vengeance. After becoming king of the Noldor exiles and leading a rebellion against the Valar, it was he who brought the first Elves to Middle-earth.

It was he who brought great suffering and glory to the Noldor, a glory that remained unforgotten to the end of Arda.

All of the above events take place in the First Age and are described in The Silmarillion, and while Amazon does not own the rights to this work, fans appreciate the creators' attention to the legacy of Middle-earth.

While the design of many of the costumes and armor in Rings of Power raises questions from fans, especially given the show's hefty budget, the design of the statue has been appreciated by many.

"Looks quite similar to how I would have imagined Fëanor to be! Personally hope more elves, at least non-statue elves would share that aesthetic!" Twitter user won_piano said.

The second season of Rings of Power does not have an official release date yet.

Fans are eagerly awaiting its release, as the second season will most likely feature more major and large-scale events that many have been waiting for in the first season.
