Appearing on the 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast recently, acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino discussed his thoughts on the "Marvel-ization of Hollywood" and how it has affected the role of actors in the film industry.

He pointed out that in Marvel films, the focus is often on the characters rather than the actors who portray them.

"You have all these actors who have become famous for playing these characters," Tarantino stated. "But they're not traditional movie stars in the sense that they don't carry a film based on their own star power. Right?"

This shift towards character-driven storytelling has been a defining characteristic of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has had a significant impact on the industry as a whole.

Several Marvel actors, who typically avoid public controversy, felt the need to speak out in response to Quentin Tarantino 's comments on Marvel films. Simu Liu and Samuel L. Jackson were among the first to offer their opinions, and now, Robert Downey Jr. has added his thoughts on the matter.

In an interview with Deadline, Robert Downey Jr. was asked to comment on Quentin Tarantino's recent criticism of Marvel films and the superhero genre.

Downey responded by saying that he thinks it is a waste of time to be at war with ourselves within the creative community. He mentioned that he has had his own reactions in the past when people have said things that he felt were discrediting his integrity, but he ultimately thinks it is important to move past these conflicts.

"You know what, let’s just get over it. We’re all a community. There’s enough room for everything."

Downey went on to say that he believes there is enough room for all types of films and he is grateful for the success of films like Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar: The Way of Water.
