Please, not the 'Game of Thrones' vibes in this show.

Warning: the following article contains spoilers for 'The Boys ' episode 8

The Friday premiere of 'The Boys' eighth and final episode was certainly a rollercoaster. The big final stand-off with Homelander ended up not actually being the final one, as Homelander got an unexpected ally by his side: his son, Ryan Butcher.

The appearance of Becca's kid was a game-changer for Billy Butcher, who seems to abandon the initial plan as soon as he sees Ryan. But the latter ends up siding with his biological father, and the final moments of the episode reveal him silently watching Homelander killing a civilian in front of the crowd... and smiling.

Now this smile has triggered vivid 'Game of Thrones ' flashbacks for many people online. That was not the face of Ryan Butcher, but rather that of... Joffrey Baratheon.

For those blissfully unaware, Joffrey was one of the most hated 'Game of Thrones' characters in terms of being an annoying and mean narcissist who would rejoice when the others suffered and torture everyone just because he could. Sounds like someone familiar?

Does this mean we are getting a sinister version of Ryan Butcher who goes full "like father like son" mode? Many fans think that will be exactly the case, with Homelander potentially going absolutely insane now that he has a son to show off in front of.

It looks like fans are ready to unleash all their Joffrey-fueled hatred towards Ryan, even though he technically hasn't done anything wrong... yet.

"Don't want to post any spoilers for #TheBoysFinale but I have to say, Ryan is the new Joffrey in terms of pure hatred I have towards a child character. I hope he is brutally disposed of next season." – @andrew10169.

'The Boys' season 4 is due to start filming soon, and who knows, maybe we have even more disturbing 'Game of Thrones' parallels incoming.

Episode 8 is currently streaming on Prime Video.
