Will Rue be able to manage a sober life?

It's been pretty easy to forget Euphoria 's existence over the past year as everyone's attention has been focused on Sam Levinson for all the wrong reasons. After the scandalous production of The Idol and reviews ranging from praise to outright bullying, no one even thought about Euphoria's return.

However, Season 3 had already been greenlit by HBO in February 2022, so the team continued production. Many fans were hoping to see the show return in early 2023, but it took a little longer than expected. Now, with both the WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes going on in Los Angeles, it may take even longer to finish production.

Although no official release date has been announced, fans are starting to get little teases from the show's creators to keep them hooked.

The latest one came from Sam Levinson himself in an interview with Elle magazine. He explained that he sees the third season of the teen drama as a "film noir" and Rue will face all kinds of struggles on her way to sobriety:

“[She will] explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world,” the series’ creator said.

The majority of the cast will be joining Zendaya 's Rue on another journey, as Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Sydney Sweeney, as well as many other stars from the show will be returning to film. The only cast member who will not be returning to her character is Barbie Ferreira, who announced it on her Instagram back in August 2022.

Many fans were devastated by the news of Ferreira's departure from the show, but the actress' decision was final. As of now, there is no information on whether the actress will be recast or if her character will be written out of the show altogether. However, Euphoria has never been known to use "soapy" techniques, so it's expected that Kat will leave the show.

It is also expected that the sudden passing of Angus Cloud, who portrayed Fezco O'Neill, would also require some changes to be made in the third season of the show.

Keep an eye out for any important news or behind-the-scenes updates on Euphoria Season 3. You can stream the previous seasons of the teen drama on MAX until there is an announcement about the release of new episodes.
