With its current span of three consecutive seasons, Mike White’s feverish drama The White Lotus has so far offered many epic scenes and dialogues that still live rent free in the pop culture of today, but many are sure nothing can beat what the show’s latest episode shocked everyone with.

The White Lotus’ ongoing season 3 is currently getting closer to its conclusion on April 6, taking its time to introduce new characters and hint at their possible role in something truly gruesome that awaits us all in the finale.

The instalment’s episode 5 titled Full-Moon Party was full of surprises, though only one scene with a guest star in a cameo role still has everyone talking.

In episode 5, Walton Goggins ’ Rick is finally off to Bangkok after a series of fights with his much younger girlfriend Chelsea in regard to their quality time together at the luxurious resort.

Having made its fans anticipate what’s about to happen to the character in the capital of Thailand, the show sees Rick reuniting with his old friend Frank, introduced for the first time and portrayed by Sam Rockwell.

Previously a relentless partier and alcohol fan, Frank is now more sober than ever, impressing Rick with a revelation about him finding his real self in Buddhism, but then delving into a shocking matter, unraveling details about his sex addiction for 5 minutes straight.

The scene left both Rick and audiences with a jaw-dropping reaction, with many also admitting that, despite its somewhat repulsive nature, Rockwell’s monologue was the highlight of the episode and probably the best scene of the entire season.

The White Lotus Fans Say Sam Rockwell’s 5-Minute Appearance Deserves an Emmy

Mike White’s last-minute decision to cast Rockwell for a five-minute screen time in The White Lotus’ new season was definitely worth the shot, considering the feedback that the scene received from the series’ fans.

“I’m still processing the Sam Rockwell monologue in The White Lotus but it might end up as one of my favorite pieces of TV acting this year,” blewis1103 wrote on X.

Some people believe this was one of the most iconic moments in the history of the show.

Many fans are confident that Rockwell will get an Emmy for the monologue.
