One of the biggest questions that has spawned a lot of fan theories and speculation is whether Mace Windu, portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson, survived his confrontation with Chancellor Palpatine during the events of Episode III.

Many fans are still not convinced that losing his hand, being struck by Force lightning, and being thrown out of a window was enough to defeat this powerful Jedi Master who walked the fine line between light and dark.

And the actor agrees with the fans on this one, as he has repeatedly stated over the years that he does not believe his character is dead, even though there has been no official confirmation in nearly two decades.

In a recent interview with Empire, Jackson not only doubled down on his position, explicitly stating that Mace is "not dead," but also revealed that he would be happy to reprise the role at any time.

Bringing Mace Back Can Actually Be A Great Move

Fans point out that given that Star Wars has had several miraculous resurrections over the years, Mace's return is well within the realm of possibility.

Moreover, unlike the infamous comeback of Palpatine in Episode IX, this seems far more appropriate since fans have been anticipating it for a long time.

After all, the unexpected resurrection of Darth Maul, which seemed silly at first, eventually led to an excellent storyline that ran through The Clone Wars and Rebels TV series.

It has greatly improved the character, who was rather shallow when he debuted in Episode I and served no purpose other than being a cool-looking throwaway villain, so if Mace is eventually brought back, it might be worth it.
