Here’s What You Should Know About the 2025 Logies (Besides Who Won)

A big night for TV, with a few surprises.
I was browsing updates on Australian TV awards and couldn’t help but notice a mix of celebration and surprises at the 65th Logie Awards. Here’s what stood out.
Lynne McGranger finally won the Gold Logie — her first ever — after 33 years portraying Irene on Home and Away. She also earned Silver Logie for Best Lead Actress in a Drama, moving many with her down-to-earth acceptance speech.
Sam Pang once again hosted — his third consecutive year — and proved why he’s now a staple of the event. His sharp, witty commentary felt more polished and dependable than ever.
Comedy fans had every reason to smile too — ABC’s Fisk swept all five awards it was nominated in, including Best Scripted Comedy, lead acting wins for Kitty Flanagan and Aaron Chen, plus supporting awards for Julia Zemiro and Glenn Butcher.
Magda Szubanski was inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame, becoming only the fifth woman ever to receive the honour. Her emotional, pre-recorded speech struck a chord, especially as she continues treatment for mantle cell lymphoma.
Whether you tuned in or caught up later, this year’s Logies offered plenty to talk about — and maybe even a reminder of why TV still matters.
