Tatiana Maslany, who portrayed the titular character, revealed that there is little hope for the show to be renewed for a second season.

Summary:

  • She-Hulk: Attorney at Law TV series turned out to be a huge flop despite huge budget
  • It now appears that the chances of the show being renewed for season 2 are extremely slim, according to the lead actress
  • Fans are wondering if they will ever see Tatiana Maslany reprise the role, as her performance was one of the best things about the show

It's been three years since Marvel Studios began to take a more serious and collected approach to the MCU 's TV branch, with the WandaVision TV series debuting on Disney Plus on January 15, 2021.

While there have been numerous attempts to bring the franchise to television in the past, the projects were scattered across different services like Netflix and Hulu, leading to all sorts of complications, including rights issues, so moving new shows to Disney's own streaming service made things much easier.

Since then, a whole bunch of new projects have been released, and while some of them have been really great, unfortunately not all of them have been able to maintain the same level of quality.

She-Hulk Was One Of The Biggest MCU TV Flops

The She-Hulk: Attorney at Law TV series, which was released in 2022, falls into the latter category, as while critics were quite warm in their reviews, fan reactions were far less favorable.

One of the most glaring problems with the show was the visual effects, which were pretty atrocious even by TV standards, which is quite surprising considering the show's considerable budget.

According to various reports, She-Hulk had a staggering budget of $225 million, costing $25 million per episode, which didn't translate into quality at all and somehow paled in comparison to the rest of the MCU Disney Plus shows.

While there have been no official updates regarding the second season of the show, it seems that its enormous budget ultimately proved to be its undoing.

During her recent appearance on the Codenames LIVE! - The New Class stream, Tatiana Maslany, who portrayed the titular character, hinted that She-Hulk season 2 will not see the light of day as they "blew their budget," which was not appreciated by Disney.

While the show hasn't been officially canceled, this comment from its lead star strongly suggests that there have been no talks about renewing She-Hulk for a second season for now.

She-Hulk Had Huge Potential That Was Shamelessly Wasted

Fans can't wrap their heads around the fact that a show that seemed destined to thrive as an ongoing series has flamed out so badly, especially with such a large amount of money spent on its creation.

They feel that having Jennifer Walters transform into her Hulk form at the very beginning of the series was a terrible decision, as most of the times she used it were completely pointless and only led to more awful CGI plastered across the screen.

The most disappointing aspect of the show is that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law had huge potential to be really great, if only the creators had focused more on the "Attorney" aspect instead of the "Hulk," just using superpowers to spice things up a bit.

Still, fans are hoping that this is not the end of Tatiana Maslany's career in the MCU, as despite the cringe-inducing writing, the actress delivered a pretty solid performance and nailed the role.

If she is given better material to work with next time around, She-Hulk could join the ranks of the MCU's greatest new characters, so fans are looking forward to seeing her again in another installment of the franchise.
