Marvel’s new movie had twenty minutes cut out, and it seems like Paul Walter Hauser wasn’t really happy to see his scenes being removed too.

Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps has quickly gone from the studio’s biggest hope to a possible box office bomb, now boasting of less than $500 million grossed against its $200 million budget.

Despite this, good reviews are still what the movie can still rely on, even though there wasn’t much praise from The Fantastic Four’s actor Paul Walter Hauser anyway.

Introduced as Mole Man in the first instalment of a possible future franchise, Hauser seemingly wasn’t impressed by how the movie actually turned out, having given it 3.5 out of 5 on Letterboxd — he had a reason though.

Paul Walter Hauser Wishes Marvel “Hadn’t Cut My Scene With Vanessa Kirby” From ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’

Now that Marvel’s fans know there are at least twenty minutes of The Fantastic Four’s unseen material out there, it seems like John Malkovich’s Red Ghost wasn’t the only one to be wept off the movie.

As Mole Man’s Paul Walter Hauser revealed in his own mini review posted on Letterboxd, his role was actually supposed to be bigger — and even include an interaction with Vanessa Kirby’s Invisible Woman.

“I love the score, the production design, the performances. I wish they hadn’t cut my scene with Vanessa Kirby, but I’m stoked that I got to be in a Marvel movie (first world problem shit; I’m spoiled rotten to get to act). Excited to follow the Franklin story!!! #FantasticFive”, Hauser wrote.

Forget Tom Holland, Paul Walter Hauser Is Now the Biggest Marvel Spoiler Giver

Since Spider-Man’s actor has been unusually quiet about the ongoing production of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, Hauser might have felt like filling in Holland’s position of the one who gives all storylines away.

As it recently turned out, Hauser couldn’t keep his casting as Mole Man a secret and unveiled it all to, well, several tens of random people.

“For the most part, I was zip-lipped, and everybody understands at this point. They all know if you do Star Wars or Marvel, you can’t talk about it. But if I'm being honest – and I pride myself on my honesty nowadays – I probably told 70 or 80 random people, be it family members or fans”, Hauser said in an interview with GQ.

However, he clarified that not a single one of those who knew eventually leaked the news to the media or whatever source out there, maintaining the whole thing a secret until the right moment to reveal it came.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is playing in theatres worldwide.
