Looks like we'll be spinning our web of patience for a while longer.

It looks like fans of the Spider-Man franchise may have to wait a little longer than expected for the release of Spider-Man 4.

While there have been rumors circulating that the movie would premiere in July 2024, it seems that Marvel Studios has other plans.

According to a reliable source, Spider-Man 4 is now scheduled to be released in either late 2024 or early 2025, specifically during the winter season.

Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the fourth installment, which will launch the second trilogy of Spider-Man solo films. In total, this means that we can expect six Spider-Man movies. In addition to his standalone films, Peter Parker is also expected to appear in the upcoming Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars crossovers.

While the plot for Spider-Man 4 has not yet been revealed, we can make some educated guesses based on the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. In that movie, the world forgets that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, so we can expect the superhero to once again fight crime alone in the new film. Additionally, Venom ( played by Tom Hardy ) left a part of himself in the Marvel Cinematic Universe dimension, so it's possible that the symbiote will make an appearance in Spider-Man 4 as well.

It's unclear at this point if John Watts, the director of the home trilogy films, will be returning to direct Spider-Man 4. Watts recently decided to take a break from superhero movies to focus on his Skeleton Crew series based on Star Wars, which is set to be released in 2023. In the meantime, fans can look forward to the premiere of Avengers: Kang Dynasty on May 2, 2025 and Avengers: Secret Wars on May 1, 2026.
