'Stranger Things' season 4 is set for release in late May, but some critics have already watched the first episode and are ready to talk about it.

The upcoming fourth installment of the saga will feature significantly matured main characters as well as exciting new mysteries that will reportedly be much darker than previous adventures. Season 4 is promised to be the penultimate season, so the Duffer brothers are surely cooking up something special for millions of fans of their creation. Now, thanks to some critics and influencers who attended the premiere of the first episode of the upcoming season, we know a little more about what lies ahead for Eleven and her team.

All industry professionals are agreeing on one thing – 'Stranger Things ' got significantly scarier, as Matt Neglia and Sofia Soto praised the Netflix series for its more mature tone and excellent character development.

Collider's Steven Weintraub revealed the approximate length of the first episode, stating that it will be about 75 minutes long – more than enough to satisfy the hunger of fans that have lived without their favorite show for almost 3 years.

Joshua Ryan praised the show's big budget, saying that the first episode feels more cinematic than ever before, and described it as a foreshadowing of the terrifying things that will happen later in the season.
