Guest stars can be a lot of fun on a television show. Often prompting viewers to scream with glee when they appear, usually by surprise and offering delight by their presence.

Supernatural has had its fair share of famous faces pop up in cameos, and most have been very well received by fans. But one in particular has prompted a strong fan reaction on Reddit, that is anything but positive.

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, of Jersey Shore fame, made an appearance in the sixteenth episode of the ninth season, Blade Runners. She did not portray herself, but rather, a demon wearing a Snooki meat suit.

It is clear that the writers intended the cameo to be humorous and hoped for a laugh from their audience. Well… that almost went according to plan.

One Reddit user has posted that Snooki's appearance almost made them stop watching the show completely. They did not comment further, simply titling their post as such and providing a photo of Snooki in the episode with her quote, "Hell's gettin' crazy."

Some have jumped on board the Snooki hate train, criticizing her acting ability, referring to her as annoying, and even going so far as to use slurs.

Harsh words. But it gets harsher. One user posted they hoped the show would "kill Snooki," and was disappointed when they didn't. Another slammed her acting and suggested she should have been cast not as a demon, but as a tree in the background.

An accusation was levelled at producers in another post that they only cast Snooki in this cameo in the hopes of boosting failing ratings. No confirmation or denial has been found, so it remains pure speculation.

Luckily not all fans are as cruel as some and a few have even leapt to Snooki's defence. Well, sort of… One agreed that having her as a main villain would not have worked, but in her one scene she was entertaining and enjoyable. Others have described her cameo as hilarious. But as a whole, the Reddit thread is a very negative one with most seeming to agree that the casting crew made a blunder with this decision.

Even those not speaking in overtly cruel terms do not seem to be hugely supportive of Snooki. At best, fans felt it was a short, funny moment, and were glad she did not make any further appearances. But one thing is for sure, the threat of almost not watching the show anymore seems like an empty one.
