Olivia and Elliot shippers, it looks like there's no good news for you.

Last week, Bensler shippers went crazy over something that almost happened between their favorite couple, Captain Olivia Benson and Detective Elliot Stabler, only to get a big pile of nothing afterwards. The shippers' anger was so bitter that even the Law and Order cast sympathized with the fans.

Danielle Moné Truitt, who plays Sergeant Ayanna Bell on the NBC show, has weighed in on the controversy, and it looks like she is on the side of the fans.

"Sometimes I feel sorry for the shippers because I'm, like, I don't know if they're taking you guys on a ride or what," she told People. ""I think they tricked you guys last week. Hopefully one day [something will happen between Olivia and Elliot]."

In the last week's episode, Blood Out, Elliot and Olivia almost kissed, only for Olivia to backtrack at the last moment, telling her partner that she was not ready for a new stage in their relationship. Fans were left upset and eager for a new episode, which aired on Thursday... and pretended the steamy Bensler moment never happened.

SVU Broke 2 Cardinal Rules With 24x12 Episode (Not to Mention Our Hearts)

Naturally, this left the fandom even more furious, though this is clearly not the first time SVU has tried to bait people into something it never intended to resolve.

"We wouldn't be so angry if it wasn't for all this baiting! They've been doing this for 24 [years]," Twitter user CrazyJane84 said.

At this point, many people in the fandom are just asking for clarity, not baiting.

"I'd have more respect for [Dick] Wolf etc if they just came out and said look, total honesty, Bensler together is a road we are not going to travel. Then I could decide, ok, I'm still watching (or not) with that understanding. After 24 years, that seems like a reasonable ask," Twitter user keywestgrrl noted.

The next episode of Law and Order: SVU airs February 16 on NBC.
