The Richmond boss might choose a completely wrong way to deal with her own issues.

As the third season of Ted Lasso, an American sports comedy-drama Apple TV series created by Jason Sudeikis, premieres, fans are already theorizing about what will happen to the titular coach after he continues to test the patience of his boss.

The show revolves around Ted Lasso, a character first portrayed by Jason Sudeikis in a series of promos for NBC Sports' coverage of the English Premier League.

Ted is a coach plucked from an obscure college-level American football team in Kansas to coach in England's Premier League: AFC Richmond.

After the first season premiered on August 14, 2020, the show received an extremely warm reception from critics and viewers alike, allowing the series to be renewed for seasons two and three.

Now, with the release of the third season's debut episode, fans are anxious to know the fate of their favorite coach.

When Ted takes his team on an inspirational trip to the sewers, the whole thing quickly goes viral on Twitter, jeopardizing the team's public image at the upcoming conference.

This infuriates Ted's boss, Rebecca, and only his casual approach to the conference, which wins the sympathy of the reporters and turns the initial negative reaction on social media upside down, as well as a text from Keeley Jones, are able to bring her back into line and make her relax about the press conference.

Fans are concerned about Rebecca's attitude towards Rupert, her ex-husband, as she is focused on beating him at all costs, while Ted is more concerned about what is best for the club.

This conflict of interest could jeopardize Ted and Rebecca's relationship, and fans fear that she may even fire him if she is unable to overcome her fixation on Rupert.

The theory has already gained some traction, as Reddit user TDenn7 pointed out:

"It feels like they're heading this way. She wont be able to put aside her hatred for Rupert/West Ham, and it will spill over into her relationship with Ted.

That said, given how wholesome this show is, I'm guessing by the end of the season Keeley gives her that reality check and she rights that wrong."

The second episode of the third season is scheduled for release on March 22, 2023.
