There’s Only One Major Problem With Dave Franco’s Luigi Mangione Biopic

It’s been a quick transition for Dave Franco from partying hard in Seth Rogen’s The Studio to living through a nightmare alongside his wife in Together, but the actor would go even more radical with another potential role.

Boasting of all sorts of films and roles in his career, Franco has offered quite a variety of characters to his fans, though many of those do seem to manifest Luigi Mangione’s role for the actor sometime in the future.

It’s not really clear how it all started anyway, but Franco himself wouldn’t rule out such a possibility — instead, his other fans would.

There’s no way to explain why exactly the criminal’s name resurfaced while Franco is promoting Together alongside his co-star and real-life partner Alison Bree, but it seems like it’s not the first time the actor is asked about it.

“More people in my life reached out about this exact thing than anything else that has ever happened”, Franco said during an appearance at Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live”, replying to a fan who asked whether the actor would consider portraying Luigi Mangione in a biopic if one was in development (shared by Variety).

“Um… no one has approached me about it yet, I’ll say that. So let’s just say I’m open if it’s the right people, and let’s leave it at that”, the actor added.

Luigi Mangione went viral across the media when he was arrested as a primary suspect in the murder of UnitedHealthcate CEO Brian Thompson last December.

Since then, some studios revealed they were planning to make documentaries about the case, so a biopic might be in the works as well.

While many wondered when exactly talks about Franco’s possible casting as the criminal started, others just can’t get how such a thought even came to be.

As some fans noted upon the news’ arrival, nothing quite matches Franco's physical look with Mangione’s, whether it’s just facial features or simply the age.

“I don’t know why they keep asking him this question. I don’t think they look alike at all, and Dave Franco is too old for the role”, Redditor Mirauh said in a thread.

“First, we don’t need a biopic! Second, Franco is too old and not attractive enough to play Luigi”, the_lawchick added.

“I think a biopic is going to happen at some point but Franco is 40 lol by the time this happens he would be too old”, Seeking_Anita_Dick suggested.
