The iconic teen mystery series returns as a feature film, and fans are dying to know how one beloved character came back from the dead.

MTV's hit mystery show about an ordinary teenager turning into a werewolf after a brutal attack ended in 2017, but its appeal still excites millions of fans around the world. Paramount+ decided to capitalize on Teen Wolf 's enduring popularity by making a feature-length film that would continue the story of the original series, once again pitting Scott McCall, played by Tyler Posey, against a vicious new foe.

Now, thanks to the movie's trailer, one thing fans desperately want to know is how Allison Argent was able to survive the stabbing she received in season three, and why the character returns after being presumed dead for all these years.

Allison, played by Crystal Reed, was one of the main characters of the series' first three seasons. Her strong personality and interesting biography quickly made her a fan favorite. She comes from a long line of famous werewolf hunters, and so her loyalty to family and friends was constantly tested throughout the narrative.

Teen Wolf Movie Risks Repeating Annoying House of the Dragon Mistake

Although Allison's untimely death contributed greatly to the overall Teen Wolf story, viewers were still saddened by her passing. So, are they finally excited about her appearance in the upcoming film? Surprisingly, no.

As many argue, Allison's story was perfectly complete in the original series, and there is literally no need for her to come back to the game. Fans believe that the filmmakers are just trying to build up the hype around her to promote the movie, though they have made virtually no case for Allison's sudden rise from the dead.

Allison's ending was heartbreaking enough, and now the movie basically undoing it is making things so much worse, according to some Teen Wolf fans.

Moreover, the original series featured more inexplicable resurrections, and now people just feel tired of the trick.

Of course, some fans argue it is unfair to condemn the film before its release: perhaps the writers have drawn this storyline out nicely, respectfully bringing Allison back to life without ruining the ending of season three.

Teen Wolf: The Movie will premiere on Paramount+ on January 26, 2023.
