Which was quite predictable after all.

There are franchises that are popular moneymakers, and the movies that are produced within them are known for being ultimate box office successes. However, it’s also a common story when these sorts of movies also end up being the most low-rated flicks ever created.

Despite the fan appreciation and commercial success, franchises like Transformers have proven to be more for the fans of everything explosive and extra loud battles, but not the critically-minded people who enjoy a great and powerful story.

However, when it comes to earning money, they work amazingly. For example, among all the movies that have ever grossed more than a billion dollars, Transformers: Age Of Extinction has the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score.

On the Tomatometer, the 2014 film scored 17%, and that's despite the fact that it grossed $1.104 billion worldwide on a budget of $210 million.

The secret is quite simple: people just get easily excited and distracted by the amazing bright visuals, but the lack of story still makes it an unworthy watch. We are sorry if the fans of the franchise get offended by this statement, and we do realize that despite the ratings, it is still the ultimate definition of a blockbuster.

“Nothing wrong with turning off your brain and watching giant robots punch each other to the beat of Rob Bourdon’s drums and Brad Delson’s melodic, distorted guitars. Shia Lebouf was really enjoyable in these films,” Redditor craftbeerlink said.

Still, this particular installment of the whole franchise isn’t the highest grossing. In 2011, we got Transformers: Dark of the Moon that grossed $1,123 billion. Its score is also not impressive, as the movie got only 35% on Rotten Tomatoes, but it’s still more than the next movie that was released.

You can watch Transformers: Age Of Extinction on Netflix, if you are a fan of robot battles.
