The Big Bang Theory Could Not Have Ended at a Worse Time

With The Big Bang Theory ending in 2019, there are a lot of totally missed opportunities. We could have had it all if the show had been stretched just a little bit longer…

The hit sitcom ran for 12 seasons, from 2007 to 2019. We saw the style, culture, and tone change over the years, and it all fit perfectly with the plot.

Fans have only one regret – that we didn't get to see the show deal with the pandemic. Can you just imagine how Sheldon would react?

He is a germaphobe as it is, Covid would just send him over the edge!

Some fans quote Jim Parsons from a pandemic interview saying that Sheldon would be fine because he is prepared for anything, and the social distancing thing would be a perk for him.

That sounds completely in character for Sheldon, to tell you the truth.

Another scenario: Penny or someone else gets Covid, and they all get it – the episode turns into a murder mystery as the virus puts a strain on the gang's relationships.

Sheldon, of course, wears a makeshift hazmat suit for the entire episode (or even season?).

Sheldon would also probably make everyone take a Covid test every day before entering the apartment. Imagine the others going absolutely crazy from having to quarantine with Sheldon? Priceless!

Other fans disagree that Sheldon Cooper would allow anyone to be near him during the pandemic. Considering that he kicked Penny out of the apartment after her family got the flu, people have a point there.

More likely, Sheldon would be in self-imposed quarantine (long before the pandemic became a pandemic), anxiously asking everyone to sing him the Soft Kitty song. That sounds like the Sheldon we know and love.

The real question is – would Sheldon allow Amy to be around him? That would be an epic challenge for their relationship (it would be just so fun to watch it all unfold into chaos).

We believe that they would survive it together. Well, maybe with a few fights here and there.

It is just so sad that The Big Bang Theory didn't have a chance to cover the Covid-19 phenomenon, the ratings would be off the charts for that season.

With any luck, we can still get a few more pandemic references in Young Sheldon though!
