The CW Announces More Post-Strikes Returns, But No One Cares Anymore

For every millennial, The CW will always hold a special place, as it was the hottest network in the 2000s and 2010s, offering a lot of teens- and young adult-oriented content. As the years went by, the network began to lose a lot of its money and popularity but still stayed afloat thanks to the comic book adaptations.
In 2022, it was reported that The CW would be acquired by media giant Nexstar, which planned to make it profitable before 2026. The rest is history, consisting of schedule rearrangements, series cancellations, and a whole new course for future content. The kind that die-hard fans of the network won't be sticking around for.
Going through such a transformation is hard enough on its own, but the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that took place in 2023 certainly worsened the state of The CW. Now, as the network tries to bounce back by updating midseason slots with more returns and premieres, fans are becoming more and more disappointed.
When Will Superman & Lois Season 4 Release?
There are not many TV shows left on The CW that viewers really care about. The majority is only interested in three of them. And neither Superman & Lois, nor All American and Walker have gotten a release date yet.
With the latest announcement, The CW added the Sunday Night Movie slot at 7 p.m. starting January 7, and I Am, the documentary series on Saturdays, starting December 30. As for television premieres, the network will debut upcoming seasons of Canadian comedies, Son of a Critch, Children Ruin Everything, and the legal drama Family Law this midseason.
Wild Cards, a new police procedural drama co-produced by The CW and Canada's CBC and starring Riverdale 's Vanessa Morgan and Grey's Anatomy's Giacomo Gianniotti, has secured a Wednesday 8 p.m. slot. It will premiere on January 17, 2024.
No matter how much the network tries to get viewers excited about what they have coming up next, the reality is that all mentions of the network on social media are now limited to silly jokes about the quality of their fantasy content, or angry posts from people still not over the recent cancellations.
