Netflix has already proved that it can be quite a rival to big Hollywood studios. The in-house productions of the streaming service have multiple Oscar nominations and their number is increasing every year. But there was an exception – animated feature films.

From all appearances this year Netflix is giong to solve this problem with 'The Sea Beast', feature-length animated movie about an era when terrifying beasts roamed the seas, and monster hunters were celebrated as heroes. Judging by the first trailer, ‘The Sea Beast’ can boast very detailed animation that shows a definite influence from some of the biggest studios in the industry.

It's no wonder if you take into account that the director of 'The Sea Beast' is Chris Williams, an Oscar winner, famous for 'Big Hero 6' and 'Moana'. 'The Sea Beast' also has quite an impressive cast: Karl Urban, Dan Stevens, Jared Harris and others.

'The Sea Beast' attacks Netflix July 8.
