It started great, but where has it left us?

The first season of Euphoria was a big HBO hit that established a lot of storylines that fans could not wait to be developed.

However, it seems that good things don't last. In season 2, the show's creator Sam Levinson appeared to have concentrated on Zendaya 's Rue (which we sort of understand), abandoning pretty much every other character and only addressing them when they were necessary for Rue's development.

Thus, a lot of storylines are just disappearing and left without a closure, and this, fans say, is perhaps the most frustrating thing about Euphoria.

"I was so interested in Kat's storyline. Does she still do the video calls for bitcoins? We'll never know. As for the suitcase, I doubt it'll return but I'm hoping the Laurie storyline isn't thrown away," one Reddit user admitted.

Kat is the character who is officially no longer in Euphoria, as the actress portraying her, Barbie Ferreira, quit the show, seemingly over disagreements with Levinson. Ferreira's departure from the show was tough news for fans to take, with many people turning against Levinson for "squeezing" the actress away from Euphoria.

But Kat is not the only character who fans think got unfairly sidelined.

"I wish they showed more of what happened to Fez after the whole shootout fiasco with Ashtray instead of spending most of the time showing Elliot singing to Rue after he just banged her girlfriend," Redditor Alani0203 said.

However, the troubles of season 2 might be linked to the coronavirus pandemic, some fans suggest, dreaming of seeing a "true" version of the season that was not adjusted to the pandemic repercussions.

"I feel like making the show way more popular/ entertaining to gen z tiktok viewers really influenced the rewritten script which I think ended up negatively doing so," Redditor No_Luck_6800 argued.

It's unclear whether season 3, which will hopefully be filmed in less restricted conditions, will give the people what they want. With Ferreira's departure and Levinson's focus on another project, The Idol, fans fear that season 3 will only "degrade" further instead of trying to live up to the standard of the first one.

The premiere date for the third season is yet to be scheduled.
