After the recent release of 'Thor 4' trailer, fans finally got the long-awaited first look at Christian Bale's villain, but many were disappointed by his new appearance, that didn't look anywhere near to the character's original design in the comics.

The Oscar-winning actor plays the role of Gorr the God Butcher, an extremely powerful being, whose goal is to destroy all the gods existing in the MCU. Thor (Chris Hemsworth ) will be forced to confront this ferocious foe, trying to protect his own life as well as the lives of those close to him. Bale's transformation into a gray-skinned and starving villain is commendable, but many found the live-action version of this character to be a bit underwhelming compared to the gorgeous alien design from the pages of Marvel Comics.

However, some fans believe that hope is not yet lost, and have revealed their perfect theory about Gorr's new look on Reddit. Some of them believe that Bale's appearance changes throughout the trailer, which can only indicate one thing – the form of Gorr shown in the trailer is definitely not his final one.

And it really does make sense. Taika Waititi and his creative team are definitely cooking up something extra for fans, so the decision to keep a few secrets to surprise viewers is more than likely.

'Thor: Love and Thunder ' hits screens on July 8, 2022.
