Because what can be more entertaining than that?

  • The Pursuit of Love is a period miniseries released in 2021.
  • At the center of the story there are two young women trying to find love and new adventures.
  • The events of the series are set in between two World Wars.

Period dramas are taking over the world with their stunning visuals, breathtaking costumes and, of course, the most intriguing and scandalous storylines. The 2010s were largely devoted to Downton Abbey, which became a kind of litmus paper for future period dramas.

In 2020, for example, the amazing Bridgerton series was released, taking royal scandal to the next level and attracting an even younger audience. Then, in 2022, the world was introduced to The Gilded Age series and literally became obsessed with the story of this on-point historical drama.

Now, fans are waiting for news of The Gilded Age season 3, but to brighten up the time without the beloved show, it would be nice to turn to something else. For instance, another brilliant period series called The Pursuit of Love.

The 2021 show has only three episodes and is based on the novel of the same name. The events of the show take place in England and France between 1927 and 1941.

The show centers on two young women, Linda Radlett and Fanny Logan, who are best friends and share the same goals – to go on many adventures together and eventually find love and marriage.

However, when Fanny finds her way into a steady lifestyle, their friendship is put to a test, because Linda is not ready to live the life she finds boring. The girls grew up together and love each other unconditionally, but due to their different upbringing they find it difficult to agree on things sometimes.

At the heart of this story of love, adventure, friendship and joy is the amazing character of Lord Merlin, played by Andrew Scott, who simply blew the audience away.

“I watched this for the first time about a week ago and it absolutely sent me off. I haven’t seen anything so beautiful or funny in a while. Andrew Scott is excruciatingly brilliant. The whole cast is. An absolute marvel,” Redditor bananapineapplesauce said.
