Agnes Is a True Villain & Ophelia Is a Raven: 7 Mind-Bending ‘Wednesday’ Fan Theories on Season 2 Part 2

Netflix’s hit show is coming back in several weeks with a possible explanation of all those major plot twists, so Wednesday fans are already packed with the best theories you might want to hear.
Less than three weeks is left until Wednesday’s season 2 part 2 finally hits Netflix with more to come for the eponymous character after that shocking cliffhanger in episode 4.
With Gwendoline Christie’s Larissa Weems making a sudden comeback in the second part’s trailer, there are now even more things on the list of Wednesday’s mysteries that the second season has now to address.
However, the show’s fans aren’t wasting much time before the anticipated release and have already come up with all sorts of theories that might turn out to be true in the end. Here are some of the best of those.
Goody’s Book Won’t Be Burnt — It Just Can’t Be
Apart from the fact that the book Wednesday uses on daily basis might actually help her get her supernatural powers back, Morticia’s idea of burning it has no sense just because it can be unburnable as well.
“Goody's book is not burnable. It certainly didn't appear to be catching, and Morticia's look feels more of surprise than regret”, Redditor Gyrfenix wrote in a show-related thread.
Slurp and Augustus Stonehearst Might Have Worked Together — and Eventually Fell Out
Even now it’s pretty clear that there’s something that connects Stonehearst to Pugsley’s pet zombie who used to be a mastermind back when he was a human.
As some fans surmised, Slurp was the one behind the LOIS program that Stonehearst eventually stole, which is why the former refers to the latter as a “friend” in a sarcastic manner.
“Slurp helped Stonehurst in making the machines he used for LOIS, since the machines in the facility and the ones that appeared when Ajax was telling the story look very similar”, Creative-Card-8288 shared in another thread.
Isadora Capri Is Definitely Up to Something
While Wednesday’s sequences with Isadora appearing as a highly suspicious figure might be just a delusion, fans think her first conversation with Wednesday about Prokofiev who, apart from being a musician was also a chess player, hints at her moving pieces and probably scheming against Wednesday.
On top of that, Isadora might be working alongside Agnes DeMille who is now a trusted ally, even after proving herself to be sneaky and pretty nasty.
“When Wednesday was on her way to save Enid after Agnes took her and Bruno, Isadora appeared out of nowhere. It seems to me that she was trying to delay Wednesday for some reason, which connects to my theory about her and Agnes working together”, Creative-Card-8288 added.
The Woman in Willow Hill Asylum Isn’t Aunt Ophelia
Even though Morticia’s words about her estranged sister suggested Wednesday’s aunt Ophelia is still incarcerated in Willow Hill, the woman that Jenna Ortega’s character rescues in the end might not be her, but rather Tyler’s mother.
As some fans also remembered from season 1, Tyler’s father had his own investigation of the LOIS program, feared that Tyler would be sent to Willow Hill for some reason too and, what’s more important, was so concerned about birds.
“It’s because his wife is in there! It also makes PERFECT sense on why he wouldn’t talk about her to Tyler at all. It all clicks into place so nicely”, ItsThe_____ForMe wrote.
Instead, Aunt Ophelia Might Be… a Raven
If the woman in the asylum is in fact Tyler’s mom, then Wednesday still needs to explain what really happened to aunt Ophelia.
What we know so far is that she was believed to go crazy at some point, which is a common description when someone uncovers a secret that others want to keep.
“I think Ophelia uncovered the Lois plot, which was a moneymaking plot for her mother, and Grandmama silenced her by having her committed to the asylum she owned. She’s been turned into a raven”, SerVys shared.
Can Principal Dort Be Looking for Funds for Gideon?
Now that Steve Buscemi’s new Nevermore principal is also looking pretty suspicious, it couldn’t slip anyone’s attention how hard he is trying to find money for the school.
This might have a reason since Nevermore needs to recover after the first season’s attack, but there can also be something more behind Principal Dort’s idea — including his possible connection to Gideon, the leader of the MorningSong cult that scams people for money.
“The parallels are there, and Gideon is in need of a new source of income. Was that who Dort was speaking with on the phone in the headmaster's study?” Gyrfenix continued.
Is Agnes Good or Bad After All?
While Agnes’ first major appearance was easily what pushed her to the list of outright villains, her determination to help Wednesday with her investigation can also seem somewhat noble — unless she’s also scheming against Wednesday by trying to figure out all of her secrets.
Since many fans noted that Agnes and Isadora Capri look alike, they theorised about them being connected in some way or even being one person.
“Agnes knows literally everything about Wednesdays investigations (probably more then Wednesday thinks she knows bc she’s freaking invisible) and with this power and Wednesdays trust in her, it would be so easy to derail and ruin everything and also kill Enid. The motive is still there from eps 1 and 2”, ItsThe_____ForMe added.
