We expected literally anyone to become Wednesday's spiritual guide but Larissa Weems. The trailer for Wednesday Season 2 Volume 2 surely did drop a bombshell.

Netflix has released a trailer for the second part of Wednesday season 2, immediately spoiling a big reveal: it turns out that Gwendoline Christie is back in the show as Larissa Weems. And no, that doesn't mean that her death in Season 1 has been undone. Here's how it happened.

The trailer starts off with Miss Addams waking up in a hospital bed to a very Joker-esque sight of Principal Weems, who asks her if she's ready for a sponge bath. It first looks like a hallucination, but the explanation arrives quickly: Larissa Weems (or rather, her ghost) is now Wednesday's spirit guide.

That's right. A huge surprise for anyone who expected Lagy Gaga's Rosaline Rotwood, Goody, or Aunt Ophelia to become Wednesday's guide, but a very nice one for pretty much everyone in the fandom.

How Can Principal Weems Be Back in 'Wednesday' Season 2?

It's a tough task to bring back a fan favorite without upending their previous arc, but Wednesday handled the challenge with grace.

Christie's character returns as a ghost, and we're saying it so confidently, because no one else seems to see Weems: when Wednesday talks to her with Enid in the room, her bestie has no idea who she's talking to.

It doesn't mean, however, that Weems still cannot go back to life: after all, even Slurp somehow managed to return from the dead. By the way...

Will Slurp Become Human in 'Wednesday' Season 2 Volume 2?

We saw Slurp the Zombie in the trailer, too, and let us say that he looks almost like a regular Nevermore student now. In the trailer, he seems to be opening a grave or a crypt, but it's very unlikely he's eager to return to one.

Clearly, eating several characters from Volume 1 has helped Slurp to look better. But will he behave, or do we a have a chaotic evil wandering around Nevermore?

What Will Happen to Tyler in Volume 2?

Judging by several glimpses of Tyler from the trailer, he doesn't feel so good. He looks very sinister, but also very sick: after all, he as a Hyde did kill his master, and no Hyde can survive without a master.

Unless Wednesday is his new master by accident, Season 2 Volume 2 may as well mark Tyler's downfall. However, this show is pretty good at surprising us every now and then: no one expected Larissa Weems to be back, after all.
