Now this is a Harry Potter level of "what if" in Star Wars.

As fans await the third season of The Mandalorian, they can't help but look for clues in something that's already out. This time it's The Clone Wars, and it looks like fans are on to something.

As noted by Twitter user sw_holocron, in The Clone Wars, Ahsoka defeated Pre Vizsla who wielded the Darksaber. According to the rules, this would make her the rightful ruler of Mandalore, and you know what? Sounds like a perfect surprise plot twist for The Mandalorian season 3.

"When Ahsoka is actually the big bad in The Mandalorian S3 because she wants to claim Mandalore and command it's army against Thrawn," Twitter user leighannescass said.

Others, however, remain skeptical of the theory.

"You have to challenge the current owner of the darksaber to take ownership if they lose in combat. Ahsoka never wanted the saber. Sidious best maul but didn't care about ruling mandalore with the saber since his empire was going to rule it anyway," Twitter user kong12322 explained.

Still, many people argue that the rules of the Star Wars universe are sometimes inconsistent, so if The Mandalorian wanted to make Ahsoka a surprise villain, it can definitely do that.

The whole discussion seems like a twisted version of the Elder Wand debate in the Harry Potter fandom, when fans could not come to terms with the rapidly changing list of the wand's true owners.

The Mandalorian season 3 premieres on March 1, and its trailer has already broken the viewing record with more than 83 million views in the first 24 hours of its release.
