If you thought 'Dune' cast was star-studded, wait until the sequel hits theaters.

Looks like early March rumors were true – Florence Pugh and Austin Butler are officially set to appear in 'Dune: Part 2'.

The original cast, including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya and Javier Bardem, will reprise their roles, and Denis Villeneuve will return to the director's chair. The sequel will cover the second half of the original book, and new characters will be introduced into the plot.

Florence Pugh, famous for her turns in 'Black Widow' and 'Midsommar', will star as Princess Irulan Corrino, the eldest daughter of the all-powerful Emperor Shaddam. Her character will play a key role in the upcoming film, since in Frank Herbert's original novel she was given the official honor of becoming the wife of Paul Atreides (Chalamet).

Austin Butler, the lead actor in the upcoming 'Elvis ', will play the role of the villainous Fade-Route, nephew of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård), who is described as no less cruel than his uncle. The role was previously embodied by the legendary Sting in David Lynch's 1984 film 'Dune', so Butler will have to do his best to fill his shoes.

Fans are excited to have Pugh join the cast, with many already anticipating how she and Zendaya, another Marvel alum, will star in the same movie.

'Dune 2' scheduled to hit theatres on October 20, 2023.
