Does James Seadown Die in 'The Buccaneers'?

We know exactly why this question bothers you, and we already have an answer.
The Buccaneers have almost finished their second season. If you haven't had time to catch up on the latest chapter of American women's adventures in prim England, and you're interested in the fate of specific characters or just need to refresh your memory, we've got you covered.
So what happened to Lord James Seadown – one of the most discussed characters in the series, and not because of his best traits and actions?
James Has Been an Awful Husband from the Very Beginning
James Seadown is the husband of Jinny St. George. He embodies British aristocratic coldness and primness. And everything would be fine if he were simply distant and cold with his new wife.
Jinny experienced real hell – James used physical and psychological violence against her, becoming one of the most terrifying incarnations of an abusive husband onscreen.
His behavior forced Jinny to flee the country with Guy to protect herself and her child. However, Nan revealed their location when she went to Italy.
James Stole the Baby, and Jinny Was Forced to Return to England
James found Jinny, and gained her trust through manipulation and gaslighting, briefly convincing her that he had changed. But when Jinny realized that it was a manipulation, it was too late. James stole the baby and took it back to England.
Jinny followed them and her attempts to reach James and requests that he return the baby to her ended with the man locking her in a mental institution.
After undergoing "treatment," Jinny returned home, where James took the baby from her again and locked her in a room. Upon learning of this, James's brother, Richard, and sister, Honoria, devised a plan to rescue Jinny and the baby.
While Richard distracted James, Honoria took the baby and escaped with him. Meanwhile, Richard confronted James, who had found out about the plan, and freed Jinny.
Did James Seadown Die?
This could only end tragically – it turned out that James had a gun. At first, he wanted to commit suicide, but Richard managed to calm him down – or so it seemed.
Jinny ran out of the mansion after hearing a shot and returned. All viewers hoped for the same outcome: that James would fulfill his original wish.
But it was Richard who lay on the floor in a pool of blood, having been shot by his own brother.
