One would think that the biggest surprise for Kaley Cuoco, who played Penny in the series, would be her character's pregnancy.
It was certainly a big surprise for the audience and not a good one for some of them. However, the actress herself had more exciting memories of that day.
Another thing that could have easily been named a minor character is the elevator in the apartment building where the friends lived throughout the series.
As it turned out, every floor you saw was actually the same set with different decorations. Only one thing remained the same: the elevator never worked.
Penny was the one who had the honor of riding it for the first time in 12 years, freshly repaired and working.
Not only that, but she surprised both Leonard and Sheldon by doing so, proving once again how much everything around them has changed in the past few years.
You can imagine how badly Sheldon took it, but fortunately, it all worked out in the end.
"The fact that I got that moment... I will cherish that for the rest of my life," the actress said to TVLine.
Even better, she wasn't the only one excited. The live audience couldn't contain their emotions either, laughing, cheering, and clapping for minutes after the elevator opened to reveal Penny inside.
