So many things can happen during the time of one pregnancy...

Summary:

  • Virgin River fans are tired of Charmaine's unrealistically long pregnancy.
  • The show's universe doesn't seem to be the same for all the characters.
  • The writers of the show should not leave the storyline unresolved until season 6.

We have gotten used to the fact that the lives of TV characters on the silver screen are sometimes far more interesting than our own, at least for the simple reason that there are so many things going on at the same time. Sure, sometimes it's not cool and we rarely want to trade lives with them, but a fact is a fact.

Virgin River is no exception, and over the course of its five seasons, a lot has happened. Murders, betrayals, secret revelations, breakups and so on. But while the show has been packed with non-stop action, there is one thing that has remained the same.

Yes, we are talking about Charmaine's pregnancy.

Charmaine Roberts revealed that she was pregnant with Jack's baby at the end of season 1, and it's driving fans crazy that now, after the end of the first part of season 5, she's still carrying the baby.

It seems like the universe of the show is crooked, because on the one hand we have characters experiencing life-changing moments, and here we have Charmaine pregnant and standing right there. There's no way Preacher could change multiple life partners, fall in and out of love three times in less than nine months, for God's sake.

Fans are hoping that she will give birth in one of the two upcoming episodes of season 5. And if she does not, they are even considering dropping the show. The fact that her pregnancy would be used as another cliffhanger for season 6 has the fans fuming.

“I think this is some kind of record. I don't think a character on a TV show has ever been pregnant for five seasons. It's so absurd. The writers should be embarrassed,” Redditor ApplesAndPants said.

Well, we hope that the writers have already drawn all the conclusions, taking into account the reaction of the fans on this matter, and are ready to finally solve the problem. And if not, let's just reassure them that we don't care if it's a boy or a girl, as long as the baby is healthy…

Two holiday episodes of Virgin River will be released on November 30.
