Who is the Hyde in ‘Wednesday’ & Why Tyler Might Not Be the Only Monster in Season 2

Hunter Doohan’s character is not so lovely anymore now that he’s more the Hyde rather than Tyler, but Wednesday’s fans think his arc will get even more compelling in season 2 part 2 thanks to another Galpin family member.
Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday will be back on track going after Hunter Doohan’s the Hyde now that he’s set free in Wednesday season 2 part 1 — though he might encounter someone very familiar on the way.
Introduced as a normie and local coffee shop barista in the show’s first season, Tyler connects directly to the entire instalment’s most shocking revelation about him being the Hyde.
Apart from his biggest secret that caused quite a chaos at Nevermore Academy, Tyler’s personal drama is also on display in Wednesday, possibly getting a major update in the upcoming new episodes.
Who Is the Hyde in ‘Wednesday’?
In Tim Burton’s show, the Hydes are a rare, but powerful type of outcasts that can be extremely dangerous due to their habit of obeying only one specific person called their master.
Though they do look like a normal person most of the time, the Hydes transform into a terrifying hunchbacked monster with bulging eyes and sharp claws as soon as they’re triggered by a traumatic event or a chemical inducement, which is what Marilyn Thornhill did in Wednesday's first season.
Despite the Hydes being able to harness their inner monster with time, they’re still more likely to go with whatever their master tells them, even if this includes killing dozens of innocent people and bringing havoc into an entire town.
‘Wednesday’ Fans Think That Strange Woman From Willow Hill Asylum Connects Directly to Tyler
Wednesday season 2 part 2 is yet to unveil more about who Wednesday actually saves from the Willow Hill hospital’s asylum where LOIS experiments were carried out, though many are already convinced the character has nothing to do with Morticia’s estranged sister Ophelia.
After revisiting the first season’s episodes where the Galpin family drama is brought up several times, some of the show’s fans now have no doubts that the woman Wednesday rescues in the second season’s episode 4 is none other than Francoise Sylvanne Galpin, Tyler’s mother.
“The character played by Frances O'Connor is not named under English credits, where every other LOIS patient is named. I mean the credits of Episode 4. (Other episodes do not name O'Connor at all)”, Redditor Tiny_Teaching_318 theorised in a thread, adding that this would make sense, considering Wednesday’s inexplicable attraction to the biggest evil out there.
“One more hint that none mentioned yet - you can see her wrist bruised as she was tied to chains (just like Tyler was)”, Yuujinaga added up to the theory.
Wednesday season 2 volume 2 will be released on Netflix on September 3.
