Who is the antagonist of Venom 3?

Venom 3 was officially confirmed by Tom Hardy himself. While not so many details are known about the movie, fans went on Reddit to speculate on the upcoming movie.

The photo posted by Tom Hardy on his Instagram really leaves some reasons for speculation. In the photo, Hardy is yelling at what appears to be a painted wolf’s head.

The dedicated, eagle-eyed fans on Reddit have dived headfirst into speculations: Is Tom Hardy teasing the arrival of Man-Wolf?

Man-Wolf, also known as John Jameson, is none other than the son of J. Jonah Jameson, the big boss of the Daily Bugle. John Jameson transforms into Man-Wolf when he comes into contact with a mysterious lunar gem during his stint as an astronaut.

The speculation is that the wolf's head is a subtle nod to the coming of Man-Wolf in Venom 3. The possibility of seeing Eddie Brock (Venom) facing off against Man-Wolf is just too exciting to ignore.

The Venom franchise has done a stellar job in presenting us with unexpected characters and surprising plot turns in the past, so we wouldn't put it past them to bring in Man-Wolf as a curveball for Venom 3.

Of course, these are all just speculations, and we've all been led down the garden path by misleading teasers before. Remember when we all thought Venom would meet Spider-Man in Venom 2?

Moreover, John Jameson actually appeared in the first movie as an astronaut employed by the Life Foundation. However, he died after a symbiote bonded with him. Anyways, it is possible he somehow survived and became Man-Wolf.

Man-Wolf could've totally joined the Sinister Six, the crew Sony's thinking about putting together at some point.

Some fans also remembered Werewolf by Night who joined the MCU in a Disney Plus’ TV special.

For now, we'll have to wait and see whether these speculations hold any weight. Will the howl of the Man-Wolf echo in the next Venom installment, or is this all just some wild fan theory?

The sequel is currently in pre-production. Venom 3 is expected to be released in October 2024.
