Unexpected Avengers' Crossover With James Bond That Never Happened
Thor might've been very different.
Today, it's hard to imagine the original cast of Avengers looking any different than they do in the movies.
An amazing team led by Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Chris Evans as Captain America has become such an iconic part of pop culture that any actor who has ever turned down the role must have regretted it.
However, some of them simply had their own big franchises to film for. Could you see Thor having the same face as James Bond?
Well, that could very well be the case if Daniel Craig agreed to take on the role.
Despite the success of the Iron Man movies, Marvel Studios wanted to make Thor even more successful by casting someone with a bigger name.
Allegedly, Chris Hemsworth, who eventually got the role, screencast along with Charlie Hunnam, Alexander Skarsgard, Joel Kinnaman and Kevin McKidd.
But Daniel Craig was rumored to have been offered the role outright.
Although the actor had to turn down the role, it was not the only time he was contacted by Marvel, also in relation to the same franchise.
Later on, 10 years after the release of the original Thor movie, rumors started circulating on the internet that Daniel Craig would appear as Thor's brother, Balder the Brave, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The rumors were recently confirmed by Elizabeth Olsen, who mentioned in an interview with Vanity Fair that she had seen the concept art and was certain of Daniel Craig's appearance.
The reason for the latest changes and Craig's absence in the final cut are not public, so viewers are left to guess.
Luckily, with or without Daniel Craig, Marvel has been able to find and keep a great cast, and Thor has been perfectly portrayed by Chris Hemsworth for well over 10 years now.
If you want to revisit the journey of an Asgardian god, you can stream all the movies in order on Disney Plus.
