They may look completely outlandish, but they were all filmed on planet Earth and you can actually visit them on your next vacation.

The Star Wars universe is full of beautiful and exotic planets that have appeared in eleven feature films in the franchise and many live-action television shows.

To bring them to the big screen, the filmmakers had to travel all over the world to a wide variety of locations, from deserts and snowy plains to forests and beaches.

So let's take a look at five exotic Star Wars locations that are perfect for a vacation.

Laamu Atoll, Maldives

The climax of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story took our characters to the heart of the Imperial Military Industrial Complex, the remote planet of Scarif, which would have looked like paradise were it not for the presence of the Galactic Empire.

The planet's tropical beaches were filmed at Haddhunmathi or Laamu Atoll in the Maldives.

Wadi Rum Valley, Jordan

Speaking of Rogue One, the "Pilgrim Moon" Jedha, which was a sacred place for Force worshippers, looked absolutely gorgeous before its destruction by the Death Star.

Its surface, covered in deserts and mesas, was filmed in the Wadi Rum Valley in southern Jordan, which has also been used as a location for many other great films, including Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Martian (2015), and Dune ( 2021), thanks to its outlandish look.

Glen Tilt, Scotland

Half of the first season of the Andor TV series takes place on the planet Aldhani, so viewers have had plenty of time to see the beauty of this world's highlands.

If you want to visit them in real life, head to Scotland, as the planet's surface scenes were filmed in Glen Tilt and the Scottish Highlands.

Cleveleys, England

After the successful heist on Aldhani, Cassian Andor decided to relax on the resort planet of Niamos, a kind of "Space Nizza."

In reality, however, the beaches of Niamos are not so warm, as they were filmed in Cleveleys, England.

Redwood National and State Parks, USA

Let's finish our list with one of the locations from the original trilogy, and since we already mentioned Jedha, that's enough deserts for one list (sorry, Tatooine).

The lush forests of the Moon of Endor were filmed at various locations in the Redwood National and State Parks, so if you are planning a trip to Northern California, you can actually visit them.
