HBOs hit series Game of Thrones came to an end in December 2019 after 8 seasons of skulduggery, slaying and sex.

Fans became obsessed with the happenings in Westeros, with millions tuning in every week to a show that was revolutionary and adrenaline-pumping in equal measure.

Even after its conclusion, new fans have discovered the show and set about binge-watching it in a way that the original viewers could only have dreamed of. And many of those early viewers have taken the opportunity to revisit the iconic series.

But how long would it take to watch every season of Game of Thrones back to back?

Season 1 was the longest and included 10 episodes that ran to a combined 9 hours and 27 minutes. The following 5 seasons also covered 10 episodes and were of similar length:

● Season 2 – 9 hrs exactly

● Season 3 – 9 hrs 7 mins

● Season 4 – 9 hrs 2 mins

● Season 5 – 9 hrs 15 mins

● Season 6 – 9 hrs 15 mins

The final two seasons of GoT came in a couple of hours shorter as they had fewer episodes:

● Season 7 – 7 hrs 14 mins

● Season 8 – 7 hrs 3 mins

All of this means that the time it would take to watch the entirety of Game of Thrones is 69 hours and 23 minutes.

But, of course, it's not that simple. Some estimates of the length of all 8 seasons are even higher, as they account for watching the end credits, which many bingers aren't really a fan of.

Particularly as watching every episode back-to-back is going to take you nearly 3 days – and that's without sleeping, toilet breaks, or doing anything else with your life.

So, technically, the actual time it takes to watch every episode of every season is 70 hours and 14 minutes. But those who wish to can watch all the action in just 69 hours and 23 minutes without missing a thing.

And if that doesn't quench your thirst for Targaryen shenanigans, you could settle back in to binge-watch the prequel series House of the Dragon. So far, there's just one season of HotD which consists of 10 episodes that play out over 10 hours and 7 minutes.
