If you think about it, a time jump would make a lot of sense for the Sam Levinson show.

Season 3 of Euphoria is set to begin filming "soon" and fans can't stop speculating about what to expect in the new chapter of the hit HBO teen drama. In fact, many people are expecting the show to finally leave the high school stage and jump forward in time - and even Zendaya, the show's star, is on board with the idea.

"I think it'll be exciting to explore the characters out of high school. I want to see what Rue looks like in her sobriety journey, how chaotic that might look. But also with all the characters, in the sense where they're trying to figure out what to do with their lives when high school is over and what kind of people they want to be," Zendaya told The Hollywood Reporter back in August.

The Euphoria cast is becoming less and less believable as high school teenagers with each passing season, as they are all in their mid-twenties. However, a time jump would help the show solve this standard Hollywood problem, while providing new opportunities for character development.

Also, the time jump could easily explain some of the character disappearances. For example, show creator Sam Levinson would not even have to dig too deep into the disappearance of Barbie Ferreira's Kat, since it has been officially confirmed that the actress is no longer part of the show's cast.

However, some fans are still concerned about the potential time jump.

"My only issue with this is there are quite a few storylines that I would've like to see immediate follow up to like Fez, Cal, and Laurie. A "btw here's a 2 second flashback to wrap up these storylines" won't be as fun," Redditor CHROMEEHEARTT noted.

However, the Euphoria showrunners have yet to confirm whether there will be a time jump in the third season. In fact, few details are known about the third chapter of the HBO hit.

Season 2 left us with Rue and Jules seemingly broken up, but managing to remain on relatively amicable terms. Meanwhile, Fez's house was raided by the police for drugs, and Ash was apparently killed in the end. This particular storyline would not age well if the creators went for a time jump without first providing closure.

The premiere date for Season 3 has not yet been set.
